Yeah, I feel like that's something you'd notice pretty quickly after the accident, maybe within a couple days if they missed it at the hospital. But 50 years? Almost seems too weird to be true, although I don't see how they could've faked that.

People from that era, especially men, have a thing about doctors. Won't go unless they absolutely have to.

Yeah, I just figured it would've caused enough pain directly after the accident that he would've thought "oh shit, I should see a doc about my arm."
Also, I guess this guy hasn't been on an airplane in the somewhat recent past, because I imagine a metal bar like that would've made for an interesting detection on an x-Ray security machine.

well, apparently he did at a courthouse, and after it showed up he didn't get it checked out because it wasnt bothering him...
